My Path to This Work

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been curious about how people grow—how they heal, adapt, and learn to navigate both the inner world and the larger forces that shape our lives. That curiosity has always reached beyond behavior alone, touching questions of meaning, rhythm, and the unseen patterns that quietly influence how we experience ourselves and the world around us. Over time, this way of noticing—part practical, part reflective—wove together my experiences in education, mentorship, and trauma-informed practice, shaping the work I now offer through Encompass.

For more than two decades, I had the privilege of teaching and coaching teens and young adults, walking alongside them during some of the most important years of their lives. Teaching literature and engaging deeply with students gave me a front-row view into how belief systems take shape—how individuals are influenced not only by personal experience and how they learn, but by family systems, culture, language, and the stories we inherit and tell ourselves.

As the years passed, my work began to expand beyond the classroom. I found myself drawn to the deeper patterns that shape human behavior—how experiences are carried in the mind and body, how emotional responses and nervous system states influence perception, and how awareness can gently shift the way we relate to ourselves and the world. This curiosity led me to study how the mind works through learning about hypnotherapy and somatic approaches, while continuing to explore psychological, philosophical, and broader perspectives on meaning, consciousness, and change since I was a teen. From there, my work naturally expanded to support individuals navigating anxiety, life transitions, self-doubt, procrastination, and long-standing patterns that felt resistant to change through effort alone. All those same things I experienced myself.

Alongside my professional journey, my personal life continued to shape my understanding of change in quieter, more intimate ways. Moving through single parenthood, career transitions, geographic shifts, and unexpected health challenges deepened my respect for resilience—and for the ways our inner and outer worlds are always in conversation with one another.

Throughout it all, my faith has remained a steady and grounding presence. My relationship with Christ and the gentle guidance of the Holy Spirit shape how I listen, discern, and show up in how I approach my life. These spiritual threads are woven alongside lived experience, reflection, and integrative insight—never imposed, but offered as quiet invitations for meaning and contemplation, much like the wisdom echoed by poets and philosophers across time.

Today, Encompass embodies an integrative approach to growth—one that honors the mind, body, and sacred spirit as inseparable expressions of the inner self and the healing process. It is grounded in an understanding of each person within their wider context—personal, relational, cultural, and existential—while recognizing that meaningful change unfolds uniquely for each individual, in their own way and in their own time.

This work is not about fixing what is broken. No one is broken. It is about understanding what has shaped you, reconnecting with your inner wisdom, and learning more deeply about yourself so you can create a life that feels aligned with who you actually are ~ a Divine Being.

If something here resonates, you’re welcome to linger a little longer. You may choose to explore the writings and resources available, spend time with a guided offering, or take a first step into working together more directly. Whether you begin with a quiet reflection, a shared conversation, or a deeper commitment to your own growth, there are many ways to engage—each meant to meet you where you are.

However you arrive, and however you choose to explore, you’re invited to move forward with curiosity, care, and self-trust.
